The World of Merrill Lynch

World Financial Center

New York, NY.

Description:

Merrill Lynch Audio Visual Museum renovation project, World Financial Center NYC. I worked very closely with John Bilodeau to understand the audiovisual problems that existed in the system as well as researched the system.

I researched and looked closely at different operational problems in the museum. I worked closely with John and ESA to address the problems as develop new creative solutions for old technologies. The plan was ultimately curtailed by the events of September 11, 2001 at that point the museum was closed.

Real World Barcelona

Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel & Brian Eno

New York,NY.
London, England

Description:

Real World Barcelona was a Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno project. I was asked by Laurie Anderson to submit proposals. The park was a project instigated by Peter Gabriel as a way of bringing contemporary artists and audience together. Real World Barcelona is the first artist designed amusement park in the world. Multi-media artists were designing the project proposals.

For the project I submitted eight proposals (52 pages of blueprints and written text) for audio-visual rides. I then built “Passage”, a fully functioning prototype a viewer interactive ride that altered brainwaves.

"The Arts Van Go" a $60,000 NEA Grant project

Christina Cultural Arts

Center Wilmington, DE.

Description:

I was director of a $60,000.00 ($20,000 Annually) National Endowment for the Arts grant/ Experimental Arts Grant /Pilot Program. I was hired by Christina Cultural Arts Center (a private institution) to develop a first of its kind, fully mobile arts studio that offered arts and crafts, literature and modern dance.  The program dealt with the inner city youth in Wilmington, Delaware.

I developed a mobile arts program. First, physically retrofitted the van with racks to support arts supplies, silkscreen, video support and a mobile dance floor. Then designing syllabi that would integrate with the needs of the communities we serviced.

I also was the coordinating administrator for the arts, literature and dance programs. This was a very unique challenge and in the end it was successful in bridging the gap between Cristina and the surrounding community. The program was later duplicated in other cities in the United States.
